Folkets Hus Spillefolk emerged more than 40 years ago in the squatted house in Stengade 50 at Nørrebro, Copenhagen. Folkets Hus in Stengade 50 was squatted same month as Christiania got squatted in another part of the town, and folk dansing and playing soon became one of the many activities of the house. Our hompage with sheet musc started in 1997.
We often make dancing conserts, for example once a month for Københavns Folkemusikhus, a (dance group in Copenhagen). We also make our own manthly dance concerts called “Ramslag” in Metronomen a concert place at Godthåbsvej 23, Frederiksberg. (see our calender )
You may come and play with us when we practice at Hus Forbi in Vanløse every Wednesday from (about) 7 PM to 11 PM..
Mostly we play Danish and Swedish, tunes, but we also have some Norwegian and Finnish tunes on our repertoire. You can see what we have played and what we presently are practicing on in our repertoire lists.
Anyone who plays an instrument can sit in.

In 2011 we got Danish Music Award Folk special award
